I inserted the text you wrote directly into the article and edited it a little. Great!--Christopher Kullenberg 09:55, 20 October 2007 (CEST)

Jag hängde inte riktigt med på engelska vad frågan var?!
Undrade du vad Deleuze menar att Guattari avsåg med termen "universell modulation"?

My 2 cents is summed up in a thought of a predisposed modulation.

The "Universal modulation" of lines of flight constrains the subject to a X-dimensional world devoted to the big laws of Control. When the realization of a "omnispacious" (in lack of a better word) world of forced movements constitutes a "dividuals" every aspect of life the modulation is complete and universal. The world is made coherent and explicit under the post-panoptical world of enclosures.

I am not sure whether it is a dialectic change... rather it is a break, mutation or another plateau?--Christopher Kullenberg 10:11, 20 October 2007 (CEST)

I think of it as a dialectics of sort. What Foucault saw was lines of enclosure and systems of control. In the Guattarian state, where dividuals are "Univerally modulated", the efforts of control is made through subtler technologies and on a dividual level of sorts. By enforcing the uniformed consumption of GPSs, mobilphones and subway-passes the movements and intensities of dividuals become controlled before they even appear in the concious mind. The dividual preformats (much like when you format a harddrive on a computer) his/her behavior without the gaze of the factory owner's foreman.

I inserted a lot of text here into the article, sinc it was great!--Christopher Kullenberg 10:11, 20 October 2007 (CEST)

"Man is no longer man enclosed, but man in debt."

Our "Universal modulation" makes the dividual ask for the privilege to sell his/her future and put it in the hands of banks and would-be employers.

And that "would be soon to come" world of interest rates and student loan payments far exceedes every other form of social control. Why spend effort on herding the flocks of sheep when they can be teached to walk in perfect lines by themselves?

The dialectics I talk of is the change from industrial capitalism to our self-controlled now. Universal modulation is the very essence of our constrained now. Instead of a society with mass-movements of angry mobs we turn to a society of dividuals in extreme stress of economic disaster, failure and death.

Modest dividuals self-modulated into courteous consumers.

My point is that the modulation and its universality makes individuals predisposed to a life in extreme stress and devoid of any lines of flight exceding the X-dimensional world that the discourse states.

And this world, the one I talk of as a discourse of X-dimensional reach, is the world of liberal economics and dividuals in search... walking in formations and denying the comformity of their lives. --Dnlnstrm 18:25, 19 October 2007 (CEST)
